Promotion/Demotion
At the completion of each rumble, a screen shot is taken of the entire guilds points and win/loss records. These are recorded into a spreadsheet for easy access, and the screen shots saved in case the records need to be checked.
The last 5 rumbles are averaged when considering promotion and demotion. To retain the rank of first mate, or crew, you need to keep your average for meeting that standard.
A Powder Monkey (demoted due to lack of performance) completing a rumble below minimum standard may be kicked from the guild. A new recruit (also a Powder Monkey) would have at least two chances to reach the minimum standard before being kicked.
Promotion may still occur after one outstanding performance.
We cannot stress enough how important it is to let us know before any rumble that you may not be able to take part in it. If you do so, it will be counted as meeting all requirements of your current rank. You will not be demoted as a result of having something else on in your life on the day of a rumble as long as you let us know about it. If something pops up late, let us know as soon as you can.
If anyone has questions about being promoted or demoted please feel free to ask for an explanation, after you have tried to work it out yourself. Anyone can make a mistake, and if that is the case your rank will be re-instated immediately.
Guild Ship Donations
Guild ship donation stats tend to be one of the biggest issues to do with the smooth running of the guild. While some pay no attention to them, others police them regularly. One thing is constant: no-one likes the idea of being ripped off!
We have many people that will fill a request (and with what is requested) so quickly it can become a competition to get a chance to donate. Trying to set "a keep stats even" rule is impossible because of this, so WE DO NOT SET A LIMIT. We suggest that you keep "Pirates Received" to "Pirates Donated" within 50%. If anywhere near that level your stats won't even be questioned.
However, if you are seen to be taking advantage of the guilds good nature, the leadership group would discuss your situation and you could be kicked by the Captain.
In some situations poor donation stats could be overlooked if you are seen to be contributing to the guild in other ways. These include:
- High scoring in rumbles
- helpful advice to junior members
- sharing battle replays that demonstrate different attack methods (but don't overdo it!)
